Welcome to placerpundit

Placerpundit offers red county takes from beautiful Placer County, California. Placer County, though located within the above-mentioned Big Blue state, is deep red Bush Country from its southern frontier astride blue, company town, Sacramento, to its northeast border on the shores of North Lake Tahoe.

Placerpundit calls himself conservative, reluctantly, because that is how his views are understood. However, Placerpundit is a bit disdainful of the "liberal/conservative" terminology, because these terms, historically, define different things at different times. Placerpundit most fervently believes that many, if not most of our "liberal" friends today really aren't very liberal, as the term has been traditionally understood. Think speech codes. Or, ask Larry Summers. We will comment much more on this phenomenon later.

Moreover, Placerpundit is most disdainful of the way our "liberal" friends (particularly in the MSM) apply the term "conservative", as a pejorative, in the old-school, British Tory sense. As if Ronald Reagan was some kind of monarchist. Placerpundit believes that the "economic royalists" of today voted overwhelmingly in 2004 for His Lordship, the Marquis of Beacon Hill, John F. Kerry. If you don't believe that, you oughtta check the FEC campaign contribution records and learn something. Thus, the primary theme of this blog will be that President George W. Bush, and most especially Placerpundit's Greatest President, Ronald Reagan, represent liberating change, democratic uplift, and a vision of a positive future featuring freedom and opportunity, much more so than such "liberal" men-of-the-people as Ted Kennedy, John Kerry, George Soros, and other such elitist scum. In short, Placerpundit believes that modern liberalism isn't about lifting people up; rather, it's very much concerned with keeping people down.
